City police to step up traffic enforcement

Toledo police are conducting a holiday-period traffic enforcement blitz through Friday.

Officers will be assigned throughout the city to concentrate on traffic enforcement, with special emphasis on identifying speeders and impaired drivers.

Officials said financing for the extra operation is from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the form of a grant administered by the Ohio Department of Criminal Justice.

Additional officers will be assigned to work along with the shift's regularly assigned officers.
