Toledo police seek suspect in store theft

Toledo police are looking for a man who took saw blades from the Lowe's store at 5501 Airport Hwy., and, when stopped by store security officials, threatened them with a knife.

According to Toledo police, the suspect was being escorted to a loss-prevention office Tuesday morning when he reached into his pocket and pulled out a three-inch knife and tried to cut one of the officers.

The officers backed away, and the man ran out of the store, dropping nearly $500 worth of blades but still getting some merchandise. He fled across the parking lot, leaving behind his cut-off denim shirt.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Crime Stoppers program. Callers may be eligible for a cash reward.
