Arson investigators were called to two overnight fires in Toledo early Saturday.
At 4:24 a.m. firefighters were called to 822 Vinton St., a vacant house in the near south end.
They saw heavy smoke and flames upon their arrival and fought the fire without attempting to enter the building.
The two-story, wood-frame, single-family house is expected to be demolished. The Lucas County auditor's Web site lists the house as being built in 1887 and owned by Lena M. Morris, who is deceased, according to the Web site.
Fourteen minutes earlier, firefighters were called to 2365 Glenwood Ave. in the Old West End. Smoke was visible when they arrived. They made plans to cut a hole in the roof, but the fire burned through before they did so. The fire was declared under control at 4:34 a.m.
The Lucas County auditor's Web site lists the house as being built in 1902 and owned by Marcus Allen Portillo.
