A man was shot in the chin Saturday while at a South Toledo self-service car wash, authorities said.
Dorian Johnson, 19, had washed his car at 913 Western Ave. and was getting ready to vacuum it when, about 8:35 p.m., a man in a gray hooded sweatshirt reached over an adjoining privacy fence and started to fire, Toledo police Sgt. William Wauford said.
Before police or a life squad arrived, Mr. Johnson’s companions loaded him into a private vehicle and took him to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital.
Mr. Johnson’s condition was not immediately available, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Sergeant Wauford said.
No arrests were made by late Saturday, and police continued to investigate.
