Monroe County authorities seek suspects in home invasion

ERIE, Mich. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspect of an attempted murder, armed robbery, and home invasion that occurred Saturday night in Erie Township.

Deputies were called about 9 p.m. to the home in the 8000 block of Suder Avenue after an intruder assaulted the homeowner with a blunt object and stole cash before fleeing in the homeowner’s own vehicle.

The victim was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for injuries to his head, neck, and rib areas.

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies recovered the homeowner’s vehicle a short distance away. They are searching for the white male suspect who is described as being between 25 to 30 and standing at approximately 6 feet, 5 inches with a slender yet muscular build. He has short brown hair and was wearing a white tank top, blue jean cut off shorts, and tennis shoes

After abandoning the victim’s vehicle, the suspect is believed to have been picked up by a black male accomplice estimated to be about 30 and with a slender build.

The black male was seen driving southbound on Suder Avenue towards Toledo in an older blue Chevrolet or GMC truck with a gray or silver stripe along the bottom and possibly lawn mowers in the bed of the truck, deputies said.
