Trooper hurt in hit-skip

A state police trooper received minor injuries when his patrol car was re-ended on the exit ramp from Interstate 475 onto Central Avenue early Saturday.

The Toledo Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said a car crashed into the back of Trooper Stephen Zientek’s cruiser at the beginning of the exit ramp about 2:15 a.m. and then then re-entered I475 and fled.

Troopers described the car as an older, black Chevrolet Camaro.

Trooper Zientek’s vehicle was disabled by the crash. The trooper did not require ambulance transport from the scene.
