Pharmacies burglarized in Lenawee County

BLISSFIELD, Mich. -- Police are investigating a break-in at the Schmidt and Son Pharmacy in the Lenawee County community of Blissfield, the second pharmacy break-in that occurred in the county in two days.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at 177 West Brooke Lane. Officers found a window to the office area broken out. A surveillance video showed two people entering the pharmacy office, then going into the pharmacy area behind the counter, where they took several bottles of medication. The break-in took 90 seconds.

Blissfield village police and the Lenawee County sheriff's department were working on the case.

On Saturday, the Addison Pharmacy at 100 Main St. in Addison, Mich., was broken into, and investigators believe the two break-ins are related.

One of the suspects in the Blissfield pharmacy break-in was wearing a coat, jeans, and a stocking-type mask. The second suspect is Caucasian and was wearing a coat, jeans, and a baseball-type hat with a bandana covering the face.

Anyone with information about the cases is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Lenawee at 517-266-6161 or 877-276-8477; text tips to 27436 and start the tip with Lenawee, or go online at Lenawee's Most Wanted.
