2 sought in West Toledo bank heist

BLADE STAFF

Toledo police are looking for a man who robbed a Charter One bank and the accomplice who drove the getaway car.

A man wearing all-black clothing entered the bank at 5911 Lewis Ave. at 11:51 a.m. Friday and demanded money from a teller, according to a report from the FBI.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a car driven by another man.

Police found the abandoned car, which officers said had been reported stolen. Authorities did not provide a description of the vehicle.

The suspect in the bank robbery is described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall or a bit shorter, and 145 to 160 pounds.

Authorities did not say if the robber had a weapon, and they could describe the driver only as black.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Toledo police at 419-255-1111.
