Bellevue woman dies in crash

SANDUSKY — A Bellevue, Ohio woman died early today in a head-on collision on Perkins Township road that also injured a man from Sandusky, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.

Bertha Ann Wobser, 63, was eastbound on Bogart Road west of Campbell Street when her minivan crossed the center line and collided with a westbound pickup truck driven by Richard T. Carter, 65. Mrs. Wobser was declared dead at the scene, troopers said, while Mr. Carter was extricated from his vehicle and flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

The vehicles went off opposite sides of the road and landed in ditches after the 6:55 a.m. crash. Both drivers wore seat belts, according to the report. The crash remains under investigation.
