PORT CLINTON — A Port Clinton man and a teenager were arrested inside an East Sand Road home early today after the Ottawa County Sheriff Office Special Response Team surrounded the house and made entry.

Miguel Popoca, 35, was charged with three counts of aggravated menacing and one count each of aggravated trespassing, inducing panic, and obstructing official business. A 17-year-old male faces unspecified charges in juvenile court.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called about 1:15 a.m. to 2323 East Sand Road on a report of two unwanted people at the home. When officers arrived, the two fled to a bedroom. Those staying at the residence said the intruders had threatened them with a gun, although no gun was found after the men were arrested.

Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene were officers from Catawba Township, Danbury, and Port Clinton police, the Ohio Highway Patrol, and the U.S. Border Patrol.
