A man who robbed a West Toledo gas station early today told a clerk not to call police “for at least 3 minutes” and then fled on a bicycle.
Police are still looking for the suspect, described as white, in his mid 20s to early 30s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighing between 170 and 200 pounds. The suspect has blue eyes and facial hair and a tattoo on his right hand, according to police. He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans.
Police allege that the suspect went into the Sunoco gas station, 2205 N. Holland-Sylvania Ave., about 3:38 a.m. today and demanded cash and five boxes of cigarettes from behind the counter. It was unclear whether the suspect had a weapon.
The clerk complied, and the suspect said to wait at least 3 minutes before calling police and then fled eastbound on West Bancroft Street on a bicycle.
