Toledoan injured in Middleton Township crash
PERRYSBURG -- A Toledo woman was taken to the hospital late Sunday night after crashing her vehicle into a utility pole in Middleton Township.
Amanda Westphal, 28, was taken by Life Flight to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, to be treated for injuries. Her condition was not immediately available.
Troopers from the Bowling Green post of the Highway Patrol reported that Ms. Westphal was driving eastbound on Roachton Road, west of Fort Meigs Road, about 10:30 p.m. when lost control going over a set a railroad tracks, going off the right side of Roachton.
Her car then struck a utility pole, overturned, and came to rest on the roof, stopping near a street sign, troopers said.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Wood County Sheriff's Office, Perrysburg Police Department, Perrysburg Fire Department, OR's Sunoco, and Life Flight.
The crash remains under investigation.
