A Maumee man is being held in the Lucas County jail after police linked him to six South Toledo burglaries.

Jonathan Fay, 27, of 1457 Appomattox Dr., is charged with six counts of burglary. He was ordered to be held in jail in lieu of a total $120,000 bond; $20,000 for each charge.

Police arrested the suspect on Sunday inside a house in the 1300 block of Stanwix Drive. According to documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court, the house was ransacked and jewelry was taken from a dresser.

Police said they arrested the suspect, who reportedly had a folding knife, inside the house. During the course of the investigation, police said the suspect "did admit" to other break-ins. He reportedly told police he was stealing items to sell them for cash.

The first break-in police linked the suspect to was reported on Aug. 20 in the 2900 block of Lutaway Drive. Police said cash and paperwork was taken from the home.

He is also charged with an Aug. 25 break-in in the 3300 block of Mapleway Drive, in which a back door was pried open. Jewelry and a gun were taken.

On Aug. 31, a home in the 200 block of Southview Drive was reportedly burglarized after a window screen was removed. Jewelry and paperwork were reported to be stolen.

A home in the 1700 block of Eastgate Road, was burgled on Sept. 5 when someone tore off a window screen and stole jewelry and paperwork.

On Sept. 14, the back door of a home in the 1700 block of Hinsdale Drive was pried open. From inside, jewelry, electronics, and cash were taken.
