Pot-growing operations discovered

BLADE STAFF

Officers from the Metropolitan Drug Task Force confiscated dozens of marijuana plants and thousands of dollars from two residences on Tuesday.

Sandy Ochoa Gomez, 27, of 1313 Colburn St. was charged with the cultivation of marijuana, a third-degree felony.

Police went to 631 Cloverdale Dr. at 12:15 p.m. with a warrant. Once inside, police found no occupants, but discovered a grow operation in the basement, according to the report.

While at the Cloverdale house in West Toledo, officers "were made aware" of a second grow operation at the Colburn address. During a search, more marijuana plants and cultivation equipment were found. Police also recovered $12,785.
