Man suffers gunshot after confrontation

One man was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center after being shot in the arm in the central city on Wednesday.

Homer Williams, age unknown, was shot at about 11:45 a.m. after a confrontation with two men on the porch of the duplex where he lives in the 1700 block of Oakwood Avenue, police reported.

The suspects fired at least twice using a shotgun, then fled in an olive green pickup truck with a wooden tailgate.

The victim was talking to investigators and first responders and walking about his porch shortly after being shot.

Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

No arrests had been made as of late Wednesday.
