Toledo police have identified Jason Anderson, 36, as the man who was shot early today on the porch of a residence in North Toledo.
Mr. Anderson, of Condley Drive, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.
A witness told police he and the victim were standing on the front porch of a residence in the 3300 block of Wilson Place about 12:50 a.m. when a man, who was walking by, stopped, blurted "Hey," brandished a firearm, and then fired it, wounding the victim, according to the police report. The witness then reportedly fought with the suspect before the latter fled.
Police did not say what the motive was.
There was no word of arrests.
