Two East Toledo men are allegedly on the lam after police charged them with murder stemming from a shooting early Friday morning.

Wanted by Toledo police for the death of Jonathan Morris, 22, are Andrew Goetz, 28, of 614 Earl St., and Chaz Jackson, also 28, of 1158 Clark St.

In documents that were filed Monday in Toledo Municipal Court, police allege that the two suspects approached Mr. Morris in a parking lot at Ravine Park Village in East Toledo with intent to rob him. After demanding the victim's belongings, Goetz allegedly ordered Mr. Jackson to shoot. Mr. Morris was struck three times, with two of the wounds proving fatal.

Goetz himself was convicted in Lucas County Common Pleas Court in January, 2006, of attempting to carry a concealed weapon. He was sentenced to 11 months in prison, court records show. A charge of improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, filed the previous September, was dropped.

Brad Meyer, a spokesman for Owens Community College, confirmed that Goetz has been enrolled in the welding program since spring.

Except for barking dogs, no one responded when a reporter knocked on the door at the Goetzes' East Toledo home Tuesday afternoon.

Police ask that anyone with information about the suspects' whereabouts call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
