Man mugged, shot in North Toledo

Toledo police have identified Steve Jones as the man who robbed and shot near Lagrange Street and East Central Avenue in North Toledo just after midnight.

The victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to police. A hospital spokesman said he was listed in serious condition.

Police said two men came up to the victim at 150 E. Park St. about 12:02 a.m., went through his pockets, and took his cell phone. Then one or both of them shot him, police said.

There was no word of arrests.

The victim's age was not released.
