Apartment complex in city ruined by fire

Fire authorities battled a blaze Thursday that destroyed a vacant apartment building near West Sylvania Avenue and Willys Parkway, authorities said.

No injuries were reported, the Toledo Fire Department said.

Fire crews arrived about 3:52 a.m. at the two-story, four-unit building at 4014 Eastway St. They put out the blaze by 10:45 a.m., reports indicate. The loss was estimated at $115,800. The cause is under investigation. The Lucas County auditor’s Web site lists Deana Deen as the owner of the building.
