Jury picked for suspect in Page Street slayings

A jury of eight women and four men was selected in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Monday for the aggravated murder trial of a Toledo man charged with killing a woman and her teenage son outside their Page Street home.

Daurin Patton, 27, of 1202 Champlain St. is charged with two counts of aggravated murder with a gun specification and one count of aggravated robbery. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Patton is accused of killing Veronica Serrano, 34, and her son Timothy Blair, 14, on Nov. 26, 2011.

The jury will return today to visit areas in North Toledo where the slaying took place before hearing opening statements.
