A Columbus man who allegedly tossed a trash bag full of marijuana plants out of a vehicle window was being held in the Wood County jail on Friday.

Craig Sheppard, 26, is charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of criminal tools. His bond was set at $15,000.

A Perrysburg Township police officer was following a Chevrolet Tahoe on Thursday that appeared to be evading the officer, according to the State Highway Patrol. The officer asked for backup from the patrol's Criminal Patrol Unit.
