Toledo Police said Avery Glynn Bacon, 6 months old, died Tuesday night about 11 p.m.
A 6-month-old Toledo boy who suffered multiple skull fractures allegedly when thrown against a hard surface has died, authorities said.
Avery Glynn Bacon was pronounced dead about 11 p.m. Tuesday at Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan, Toledo police said.
The boy's mother, Amanda Bacon, 25, of 504 W. Alexis Rd., was arraigned Tuesday in Toledo Municipal Court, charged with felonious assault and child endangering. Her bond was set at $1 million. Police said Tuesday they were filing a murder charge against the accused.
The child's injuries were reported to Toledo police at 1 a.m. Monday when the baby was taken by his mother and another person to Mercy St. Anne Hospital. From there, the child was transferred to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and then taken by helicopter to the Mott Children's Hospital, according to police Sgt. Tim Noble.
The alleged abuse occurred at Ms. Bacon's apartment, the sergeant said.
No other children were at the apartment when the alleged abuse happened, police said.
