Sheriff's deputies trace called bomb threat back to boy, 14; no evidence found at Bedford schools

TEMPERANCE -- Monroe County sheriff's deputies interviewed a 14-year-old boy after a bomb threat was phoned into the Bedford Public Schools' administration building today.

The threat -- that a bomb was in a school cafeteria -- led to a thorough search of all buildings by deputies and members of the special response team. They found no evidence of a bomb.

Deputies investigated the origin of the call, which came into the administration building at 1:43 p.m., and visited the boy at a Temperance address where he lives with his mother. After he was interviewed, he was released to his father pending charges being authorized, deputies said.
