98-year-old woman dies in rollover accident in Carleton, Mich.
CARLETON, Mich. -- A 98-year-old woman was killed Saturday when the vehicle in which she was a passenger went out of control and drove off the road into a ditch, Monroe County sheriff's deputies said.
Alice Stark was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said her daughter, Ida Guyor, 79, of Carleton, was southbound on Calkins Road south of Carleton-Rockwood Road about 4:05 p.m. when at a curve her minivan traveled off the east side of the road. The vehicle struck a concrete culvert and rolled on its side against a utility pole.
Ms. Guyor was treated at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center, Trenton, Mich., deputies said.
Deputies are investigating the crash.
