Toledo police investigating city's 39th homicide


A man was shot and killed in West Toledo today, authorities said.

Brian Minley, 24, who suffered gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead at Toledo Hospital at 3:15 p.m., a Lucas County coroner investigator said.

Mr. Minley was found shortly before 3:15 p.m. inside a home at 1241 Berdan Ave. near Willys Parkway, Toledo police said.

A woman at the scene told police she saw a man with curly hair running from the scene. He was wearing a hooded jacket, she said.

This marks the 39th homicide this year in the city of Toledo and brings to 53 the number of homicides recorded in metro Toledo in 2012.3
