A house destroyed by fire in South Toledo early Thursday had been burglarized the day before, authorities said.
Toledo police said the house at 1012 Blum St. was burglarized between 3:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Wednesday by someone who kicked in the rear door and took a television.
Occupants were not home when the fire occurred about 3:05 a.m. Thursday, according to the Toledo Fire Department.
Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said what remained of the two-story wood-frame structure was razed later in the morning. Damage was estimated at $43,000. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
