Police investigate cut telephone cables

Toledo police are investigating a series of incidents in which a man cut telephone cables to businesses in West Toledo last month.

Telephone cables were cut outside at least 11 businesses in the 2400 block of Laskey Road, the 2300 block of West Sylvania Avenue, and the 2800 block of Tremainsville Road, between Jan. 19 and Jan. 25, according to police reports released today.

"In one incident, the suspect was approached and asked what he was doing and the suspect advised he was cutting the cable to protect us from aliens," according to police reports.

No arrests have been made.
