Rescue personnel responded to a report of a drowning at the YMCA on Tremainsville Road.
The call came in about 10:50 a.m. today that there was the body of a man in the pool at the YMCA at 2020 Tremainsville Rd.
YMCA communications specialist Rob Thomas said that a man was swimming in the lap pool during open swim when someone noticed that he was unconscious.
Mr. Thomas said the man was likely in the pool unconscious for less than a minute before lifeguards noticed and extracted him from the pool.
Mr. Thomas said 911 was called at about 10:50 a.m. Life guards conducted "life saving efforts," which were taken over by EMS crews when they arrived.
The man did not die, as far as Mr. Thomas knew, though he could not provide his name, age. The man was taken to Toledo Hospital, Mr. Thomas said.
The YMCA is investigating the incident, Mr. Thomas said.
