Shots fired in Bedford Twp. dispute

TEMPERANCE -- A dispute between a Temperance man and his stepson Saturday resulted in a murder attempt in which several shots were fired, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said today.

There were no reports of injury.

On Saturday, in the 10000 block of Lewis Ave. in Bedford Township, an argument broke out between the two family members.

Investigation from the department showed that a 68 year old man argued with his 42 year old stepson and pulled a handgun. Both men struggled with the gun and it was discharged several times.

The 68 year old man was released, pending the issuance of an arrest warrant. He was taken to a local hospital and the incident continues to be under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Bureau, and deputies from the Uniformed Services Division.
