A Toledo man who led police on a 30-minute pursuit throughout the city on Saturday night is facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, felonious assault, and failure to comply. A fourth charge – harassment by inmate – was added after the suspect spit on an officer during booking, police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said.
Eric D. Parks, 120 Sierra Ct., was taken into custody after Toledo police pursued him through South Toledo, West Toledo, and North Toledo before road spikes were used to stop the fleeing vehicle at Ravine Park Village in East Toledo, according to police reports.
Police were responding to a report of domestic violence near Hill Avenue and Byrne Road about 9:45 p.m. when the suspect drove off, authorities said.
During the pursuit, police observed a female passenger attempt to exit the vehicle, but she was pulled back in by the suspect. The suspect was striking the woman, also a Toledo resident, when the vehicle came to a stop.
The victim was treated and released by Toledo Hospital.
