An eighth-grader at DeVeaux Elementary told school officials a stranger tried to entice him into a car on his way to school Wednesday.
The student said he was walking to school when a man in a white Chevrolet Suburban asked him if he wanted a ride, Toledo Public Schools spokesman Patty Mazur said.
The boy said no, but the man followed him. The student ran to the school and reported the incident to his principal, Ms. Mazur said.
The principal called police and school security. A school resource officer filled out a police report and filed it with the Toledo Police Department, Ms. Mazur said.
The Suburban driver was last seen headed west on Sylvania Avenue.
Parents in the Start learning community were notified of the incident.
