Toledo police have identified Ravon Spencer, 19, of Prouty Avenue as the woman who was struck by a vehicle on southbound I-75 at the Collingwood Boulevard exit today, Toledo police said.
Miss Spencer was being treated in the emergency room at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center as of about 3:10 p.m., at which time her condition wasn't available, a hospital spokesman said.
The crash occurred about 1:05 p.m., police said. Witnesses told investigators that the woman acted "strangely" just before she ran into traffic. It appeared to them that she attempted to run into the path of a tractor-trailer rig, bit instead hit the side of the semi, according to a written statement issued by police.
The incident closed the southbound lanes of the expressway for about 30 minutes, police said.
The crash is under investigation.
