The Toledo Police Department is conducting a prom season traffic enforcement blitz this month. The department will focus on traffic violations involving operating a vehicle under the influence and speeding. Officers will be assigned to patrol areas where school proms are taking place.
The department also plans to work an additional traffic blitz, called the “Click it or Ticket” campaign, for the Memorial Day holiday, beginning May 23. The campaign will run until June 1. Officers will be assigned to areas where there have been higher numbers of accidents and other traffic complaints. Grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have made funding the blitzes possible.
