A Toledo teen accused in a drive-by shooting during a softball game at Robinson Park on Saturday was ordered today to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $750,000.

Benjamin Besteder, 18, of 523 Cadillac Ct., is charged with three counts of felonious assault. His arraignment was in Toledo Municipal Court.

Police allege that Mr. Besteder shot Ernest Reed, 26, and fired two shots that struck an ice cream truck.

The shooting was reported at 3:15 p.m. at Forest and Grand avenues. Police said there were indications that the shooting was gang related.

Mr. Reed, who was shot in his buttock, was released from a hospital Monday.

Police said other people were in the car with Mr. Besteder, but no other arrests have been made.

Mr. Besteder is to appear in Toledo Municipal Court again on June 3 for a preliminary hearing.
