A Toledo man who was struck by a pickup on Friday while crossing an intersection earlier in the day has died from his injuries, the Lucas County coroner said Sunday.
Dr. James Patrick said Raymond Lutzke, 56, died at 5:23 p.m. Saturday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. An autopsy will be performed today, the coroner said.
Police said Mr. Lutzke was crossing North Erie Street at Madison Avenue at 9:20 p.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by Richard Thompson, 67, of Toledo, police said.
Mr. Lutzke suffered head injuries from the accident, police said.
Thompson was turning left onto Erie from Madison.
The crash remained under investigation.
