An arrest was made Monday in the shooting death of a Toledo carryout owner more than two weeks ago in his Waterville Township home.
Ronald Rooker, 32 of Waterville has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated murder in the death of James Safadi, according to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office. He was being held Monday night in the Lucas County jail, awaiting a hearing in Maumee Municipal Court.
Mr. Safadi, 34, was killed during a home invasion on May 18. He was shot in his home at 8940 South River Rd., shortly before 6 a.m., Lucas County sheriff's deputies said.
Mr. Safadi's family owns multiple carryout stores in the Toledo area, and authorities originally speculated he was targeted for a robbery. The case remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
