Separate accidents kill 2 motorcyclists

Authorities are investigating the deaths of two motorcyclists who were killed in separate collisions late Monday.

In Berlin Township, Mich., Gary L. Chamlee, 42, of Newport, Mich., died after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a car just after 6:30 p.m. on Telegraph Road, a half-mile north of Newburg Road.

Mr. Chamlee, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

In a collision about 90 minutes later, a Sandusky woman was killed when the motorcycle she was driving was struck by a sport utility vehicle on State Rt. 101 just south of Sandusky, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Kristina McGraw, 48, who was thrown from the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at 8:03 p.m. Monday at Firelands Regional Medical Center, troopers said. She was not wearing a helmet, the patrol said.

The drivers of the cars in both crashes, as well as one passenger, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries, authorities said.
