An East Toledo woman was transported to the hospital today after she fell into a 5-foot deep hole today that was in the grass in her yard.

The woman climbed out of the hole herself, and was taken by emergency crews to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo police reported. Neither her identity nor her condition were immediately available.

The hole, which was about 2 feet wide, was located in the grass median between the sidewalk and roadway in front of the woman's residence at 711 Nevada St. Police said they weren't sure yet how the hole got there.
