Police search for suspect in W. Toledo shooting

Smith considered 'extremely dangerous'

Anthony Smith

Charges have been filed against an Auburn Avenue man who is accused of shooting two people outside a West Toledo bar today.

Wanted is Anthony Smith, 27, of 2221 Auburn. He is charged with two counts of felonious assault.

Toledo Police officials caution the public against approaching Smith, who is described as being “extremely dangerous.”

Wounded in the shooting at 3505 Upton Ave. were Theresa Anderson and Michael McFadden, both of Toledo.

The shooting was reported at 12:43 a.m. today. Both victims were shot in their legs.

The victims told police that Mr. McFadden and another man were arguing outside the bar when the man started shooting.

Smith is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has numerous tattoos including GGC under his left eye.

GGC stands for Geer Gang Crips, a central city gang with ties to the Auburn-Monroe Street area.

Smith is already facing another felonious assault charge and an intimidation of a witness charge, from a May shooting. He is accused of shooting Vincent Pittman, 38, on May 3 outside an illegal after-hours club.

The victim was shot in his chest. Days later, Smith allegedly threatened to harm the victim who pursued charges.

Smith was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury in June, and his bond set at $95,000, but on July 11 he posted bond through a bondsman.

Anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 419-255-1111.
