FINDLAY -- A Findlay man was fatally injured in a drive-by shooting in this city early today, authorities said.

Joe Gutierrez III, 34, was taken to Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Findlay police.

The shooting occurred about 1:10 a.m. on East Foulke Avenue at Crystal Avenue, police said.

The victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle when a car pulled up, according to police. He stepped out of his vehicle and one of two men in the second car fired a handgun at him, police said. The identity of the driver of the car Mr. Gutierrez was in was not released.

After the shooting, the suspects' car drove away, heading north on Crystal, police said. The car was possibly an older-model dark-color Pontiac.

There was no word of arrests.
