One man is dead and another severely injured after separate overnight shootings in the central city and East Toledo.
In the central city, a man who suffered a gunshot wound was pronounced dead near Auburn Avenue and Monroe Street, Toledo police said.
The man was pronounced dead on Ottawa Drive, police said, between the Auburn Mini Mart and a closed Adams Laundry & Cleaners. The shooting appeared to have occurred in front of a small church.
That shooting was reported about 4:15 a.m.
Earlier in the morning, Lucas County EMS picked up a man from a vehicle at Greenwood and Walden avenues in East Toledo after a report of a shooting.
EMS considered the patient a trauma case and took him to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to a dispatcher.
