A single bullet that killed a Toledo man last weekend tore through his chest and pierced his heart, Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett, a Lucas County deputy coroner, said Monday. An autopsy revealed no other injuries, she said.
Lamar Booker, 23, of Toledo was pronounced dead in the parking lot of Club Status, 3122 Airport Hwy., at 3:50 a.m. Sunday. As of late Monday there were no suspects.
Police reported that a fight started inside the South Toledo club and security kicked out the offenders.
The fight continued in the parking lot despite security’s attempts to break it up. During the fight, someone pulled out a gun and shot Booker once.
Police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said investigators were working to determine what the fights were about and sought surveillance footage that could provide clues.
Police ask that anyone with information call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
