A truck fire this afternoon has shut down southbound lanes on US 23 south of Central Avenue.
A trooper responded to the scene at 3:06 p.m. Bowling Green Ohio Highway Patrol does not yet know how the truck caught on fire, but a crew is currently at the scene investigating.
Only the driver, whose name is not yet known, was in the car. He was not injured in the fire, police said.
The patrol suspects the fire was likely caused by mechanical problems, but that is not yet confirmed.
A wrecker arrived at the scene around 4 p.m. to remove the truck from the road so authorities could reopen lanes to traffic.
