The blaze destroyed the pallet yard at North Baltimore‘s HPJ industries.
NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio -- Area fire crews battled a blaze at a plastics recycling plant in this Wood County community late Thursday night, authorities said.
There were no injuries, North Baltimore Police Chief Allan Baer said.
Chief Baer said no one was at the plant about 11 p.m. when neighbors called to report the fire. Fire crews arrived at the HPJ Industries plant in the 500 block of West Broadway Street, found the pallet yard ablaze and attacked the flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire by about 3 a.m., at which time the crews left the scene, Chief Baer said.
The blaze destroyed the pallet yard and damaged the siding on several neighboring houses, the police chief said.
The damage estimate was unavailable and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
North Baltimore is about 32 miles south of Toledo.
