Man shot in altercation at Fostoria home

FOSTORIA -— Two Fostoria residents were arrested today following the shooting of a Fostoria man Wednesday night during an altercation at a city residence, authorities said.

Jerel Rhoades, 37, was charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, in the shooting of Durwin Perkins, 46, who remains in Toledo hospital, according to Fostoria police.

Tayna Brown, 32, was charged with falsification, a first-degree misdemeanor, police said.

The suspects are being held in the Seneca County jail pending court appearance.

Police responded to a residence about 10:40 p.m. in the 200 block of South Poplar Street. An unidentified person had called 911 saying that the man had been shot.

The victim was found outside the residence with a gunshot wound, according to a police news release.

He was taken to the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital and later transported to an unspecified hospital in Toledo, according to the news release.

The gunman was also treated for injuries suffered during an altercation at the home.

Fostoria is about 35 miles southeast of Toledo.
