Toledo police identified a man who died Monday from a suspected suicide inside his Point Place home as Mark Tillman.
Officers found the man with a single gunshot wound to the head after Pamela Torbert called 911 about 4 p.m. and reported a domestic-violence incident at the home in the 2800 block of 119th Street, police said. She told officers she had heard a “loud bang” after Mr. Tillman, whose age was unknown, locked himself inside.
A SWAT team and negotiators were called. About a dozen officers responded. With the street closed, about 50 neighbors and passersby looked on.
Police tried to contact Mr. Tillman but received no response. SWAT members then forced entry inside and found him with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
He apparently shot himself, Toledo police Lt. Joe Heffernan said.
Lucas County property records list Mr. Tillman as the owner of the home and a neighboring parcel.
