DELTA, Ohio — A tractor-trailer spilled about 40 gallons of fuel and caught fire early Friday after the driver struck a concrete median on U.S. 20A/State Rt. 2 in Swan Creek Township near Fulton County Road 5-2 .
The Ohio Highway Patrol is searching for the truck’s driver, who fled on foot from the crash reported just before 2 a.m.
Troopers believe the driver lost control before hitting the median, after which the truck continued a short distance before stopping. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was summoned to oversee evaluation and cleanup of the fuel spill.
Anyone with information about the crash or the driver’s whereabouts is asked to contact the state patrol’s Bowling Green dispatch center at 419-865-5544.
