A West Toledo man is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and severely beating her for several hours and returning to the home the next day, according to Toledo police reports.
Michael J. Turski, Jr., 30, of the 4900 block of Burnham Avenue, is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony; abduction, a third-degree felony, and burglary, a second-degree felony.
On Tuesday, Mr. Turski forced his way into the woman’s home in the 4200 block of Garden Park Drive and waited for her, according to police. He then attacked her several times over multiple hours, according to documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court.
Mr. Turski allegedly struck the woman in the face, head, and body, and continually choked her. He then slammed her on the floor until she became unconscious, according to court documents.
He is accused of threatening to kill her “before going to prison,” court documents show.
When the victim awoke, she ran to a neighbor’s home, but Mr. Turski “caught her and dragged her back to her home to beat her again then he fled,” court documents show.
The woman was able to call to a neighbor to call 911, according to a police report.
The woman sought treatment at an area hospital for her injuries, police said.
The next day, the woman returned home to find her house had been burglarized and vandalized, according to a police report. The woman’s neighbor reportedly confronted Mr. Turski, who said he was at the residence to pick up some items, the report showed.
He left before police arrived at the Garden Park Drive residence, according to a police report.
Mr. Turski was arrested by Toledo police Wednesday and he was booked in the Lucas County jail.
A Toledo Municipal Court judge set his bond Thursday at $750,000.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.
