COLUMBUS Jon Stainbrook, the newly elected chairman of the Lucas County Republican Party, met yesterday with Bob Bennett, the Ohio Republican chairman, and toured the party s headquarters as well as the John McCain for President Victory Center.
Mr. Stainbrook, who beat incumbent GOP Chairman Bob Reichert on Saturday in a closely contested race, said he met with Mr. Bennett and Kevin DeWine, the state party s deputy chairman.
This was one big positive welcome to the big show, Mr. Stainbrook said.
He said he explained that he plans to fill more than 400 of the 495 central committee seats in Lucas County, up from about 229 filled seats, and to rebuild and reconnect the party infrastructure.
