Local GOP leaders to assesseffect of Palin on campaign

Two local Republicans join host Jack Lessenberry on this week s edition of Deadline Now to discuss the current presidential race.

It s a race that received a jolt during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul earlier this month when relatively unknown Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was chosen as John McCain s running mate.

Witnessing the excitement that choice brought to the party faithful was Barbara Lang of Monclova Township, who was a voting delegate at the convention. She is one of the guests on this week s show.

Joining Mr. Lessenberry, The Blade s ombudsman, and Ms. Lang to talk about whether the excitement over the Palin choice will be enough to invigorate the Ohio Republican Party through November is Jon Stainbrook, the new chairman of the Lucas County Republican Party.

Deadline Now will be broadcast at 8:30 tonight and at 2:30 a.m. tomorrow on WGTE-TV, Channel 30.
